Private lesson rates 30 minute lesson $25 45 minute lesson $35 60 minute lesson $45 Private lessons are available for Ages 5 and up All ages styles and skill levels are welcome Teaching Policies Teaching Philosophy As a guitar teacher it is my mission to keep all students motivated and excited about taking guitar lessons. As such, I will do my best to encourage and challenge your abilities. The music that each student studies are tailored to the student's musical tastes and interests. Playing the guitar can be great fun but also involves work. Both work and play happens in every lesson. It is my goal that all students will truly enjoy playing the guitar and will look forward to each lesson and each new learning experience. Cancellation policy for private lessons Students are required to give 24 hours notice! Make up lessons will not be given to students who do not honor this policy. Please understand when you miss a lesson the teacher misses the possibility of earning income from another student because this time was reserved for you. If you cannot attend one of your lessons you are to notify me as soon as possible so you can reschedule the lesson(s). All missed lessons must be made up if the schedule permits otherwise they must be paid for. There will be no refunds, except for extenuating circumstances such as illness or family re-locations, etc. If I cancel a lesson that cannot be re-scheduled, your account will be credited for the cost of the lesson. Consistency of lessons is very important. Parents At Lessons If your student is 9 years old or younger, I request you attend the lessons with them. You can help them make progress much faster if you are present when the practicing assignments are made. Not only will you make lessons more productive, but you will also be able to help with practicing at home more than if you are not aware of what your child’s lesson is. Practicing It is very important that a special time be set aside each day for practicing the guitar. A beginning guitarist will need to practice 10 minutes a day and that practice time will be increased incrementally as the student progresses. Consistent practice will create the greatest result as well as increase the enjoyment of playing the guitar. Recitals There will be two recitals every year. The time and place of which will be announced. As well as knowing his or her recital piece(s) very well, each student will be prepared emotionally and mentally for the recital experience. Open Door Policy I am always available to talk with you about your child and am willing to listen to any advice you may have about the experience with their lessons. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to call me. Termination of lessons Students wishing to terminate private lessons must give one month’s notice. You are charged for every lesson until you notify me that you are canceling our agreement.
